Detailed Itinerary
As you fly into Kathmandu, you'll have beautiful views over the valley, the snow capped mountain peaks in Himalaya, and of the terraced fields below. As per your arrival time, our representative will be at the airport to receive you and transfer you to your booked hotel.
Pashupatinath Temple
Situated 5 kilometers east of Kathmandu City, Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda style has jilted roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Bagmati River, entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden to all non Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.
Boudhanath Stupa
This Stupa, 8 kilometers east of Kathmandu City, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhis Stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priest.
Swayambhunath Stupa
Swayambhunath is located approximately 4 kilometers and this Buddhist Stupa is said to be 2000 years old. The Stupa which forms the main structure is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four sided base of the spire are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples.
Kathmandu or Basantapur Durbar Square
Listed as a cultural World Heritage site by UNESCO, Kathmandu Durbar Square is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets that dates back to12th - 18th centuries. At the square, you will find Hanumandhoka Palace Museum, Taleju Temple, KumariGhar(House of the Living Goddess), Kasthamandap and other temples and buildings as old as the city itself.
We take a stunning early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, Gateway to the Everest region, perched above the Dudh Kosi or River of Milk so named because of the pale milky appearance of the glacier melt-water. We are now in the region of the legendary Sherpas and you will notice the difference in the faces of the people you meet here and those from the Kathmandu valley.
After lunch we trek north down towards Phakding along a meandering trail which is lined with mani stone walls, made with hundreds of stone tablets and giant carved boulders, brilliantly decorated with brightly colored paints. The Buddhists believe these to be sacred and so as a sign of respect to the local culture we pass them in a clockwise direction. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) which takes about five and half hours. We head onwards and upwards as the trail starts to rise through a forest of rhododendron, magnolia and giant fir-trees. Our target this evening is Namche Bazaar, a delightful mountain village and the Sherpa capital, but first we must ascend Namche Hill; walking at a gentle but steady pace we finally arrive at the town that is itself an important meeting and trading point for the local people. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Today is a rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Namche is a colourful village with many wonderful and interesting shops and vendors, fabulous food, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. An early hike above town, before the clouds move in, reward climbers with a spectacular Himalayan sunrise and views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse (the 4th highest peak in the world), and the beautiful Ama Dablam. On the way down, we can visit the Sherpa Museum that houses an exhibit on traditional Sherpa lifestyle and a fabulous photography display by a local Nepalese naturalist. One room highlights the Sherpa traditions and in another, Sherpa high altitude climbers are presented.
It is important to note that acclimatization is extremely important and that by using these acclimatization days correctly we greatly improve our chances of reaching our goal of Kalapatar, which lies at an altitude of 5545m. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Heading away from Namche Bazaar, we walk past the airstrip at Syangboche. Following the rock-strewn winding trail, we eventually enter picturesque village of Khumjung. We then spot several beautiful houses. There is a gompa at the top end of town. Local villagers generally seek medical assistance from a hospital built by Sir Edmund nearby the village of Khunde. We conclude the trip of the day as reach Khumjung. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Heading east, we pass a large chorten and then descend to a bridge across the Dudh Koshi at Phunki Tenga. From the river the trail ascends through a forest of pine and rhododendrons, before arriving at Tengboche Monastery. The views here are truly awesome, from the beautiful Ama Dablam to Lhotse and Everest at the head of the valley. Camping at Tengboche gives us opportunity to gain more insight into the culture, tradition and custom of local community. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We indulge in an exquisite excursion around Pangboche. Visits to monastery can be quite a spiritual journey for us. Savoring the most fabulous views of Ama Dablam, we trek along the challenging trail. After the excursion we return back to Tengboche for the night stay. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We walk through the forest to Phunki Tenga. As we enter Phunki Tenga, we will spot several water-driven prayer wheels. Bading goodbyes to Everest and Lhotse, we stride along the rock-strewn path. We may encounter thar and lammergeyer on the way. Thereafter, we further descend to camp by the river at Chumoa. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On this final day of trekking, we follow Dudh Koshi back down to Lukla. We can have a farewell party with the Sherpa guides and porters amidst the scintillating views of undulating mountain ranges. We may also sample some chang, local drink and try Sherpa dancing. Overnight in tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You successfully conclude the trek and proceed for flight to Kathmandu. We will enjoy our last view of the high mountains while flying back to the Kathmandu from Lukla. The snow-capped mountains will be worth to watch. After 25 minutes of flight, our representative will be waiting for you at domestic airport to take you back to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at your leisure; feel free to relax or explore the local markets.
After an early breakfast we drive from Kathmandu to Kuringhat for about 3-4 hrs. We begin our rafting after a thorough briefing on safety measures by Guide. Initially, water current becomes notably swifter as our raft maneuvers towards narrow tranquil pools of clear turquoise water of Trisuli River. Gradually, we may get splashed by occasional large rapid (can be avoided depending on your preference). We conclude our Rafting at Mugling and drive towards Chitwan National Park to participate in Jungle Safari excursion.
Chitwan National Park offers a unique and exceptional wildlife experience, being the home to several rare species, in particular, the one-horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tiger; and also leopard, bear, wild boar, deer, bison, crocodiles etc. We surrender to the pure pleasure of jungle activities. Safari excursion includes wildlife safari, jeep safari, canoeing and bird watching. Unlike African animals, those in Chitwan tend to be rather solitary and shy, but the chances of sightseeing these are very high owing to the expertise and experiences of experienced guides.
You drive to Lumbini early in the morning. Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, has been revered as the place of holy pilgrimage. Lumbini has been included as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Upon arrival in Lumbini, we transfer you to the hotel, check-in and then we go walking through the Sacred Lumbini Garden where the Buddha was born. You pass through Ashoka pillar, visit the Maya Devi Temple with its bas-relief sculpture depicting Maya Devi holding on with her right hand to a branch of pipal tree and giving birth to the infant Buddha who stands up on a lotus pedestal.
Today, you will depart Lumbini and fly back to Kathmandu After your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. You have the afternoon and the evening to stroll along the streets of Kathmandu for some last-minute shopping. In the evening, there will be organized a Farewell Dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with Nepali folk music and dance.
As per your flight time you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or any other destinations. The airport check-in is 3 hours prior to the departure time and the hotel checkout time is 12 PM.
Or inform us if you want to stay longer for short tours such as Mountain Biking, a Tibet tour, a Tour to Bhutan or India Tour. We will be happy to assist you.
