Mt. Manaslu

Manaslu Mountain is the major attraction of the Manaslu region. This magnificent peak is the crown jewel of the Manaslu Conservation Area. Standing tall at 8,163 meters, it is the eighth highest peak in the world and amongst the limited 8000-ers around the world.
Locally known as Kampunge, this mountain is also considered to be of spiritual significance by a group of people. Still it is open for mountaineering and the climb to Manaslu is known as moderately challenging.

Larkya La Pass

Larkya La Pass is one of the highest and most challenging passes in Nepal located at 5,106 meters, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Larkya La Pass is the highest point on the Manaslu Circuit Trek at an elevation of 5,106 meters (16,752 feet).

The pass lies above 5,000 meters making it a tough ascent. The ascent to the pass involves climbing steep and rocky terrain, navigating moraines and snowfields, and enduring the effects of high altitude, including thinner air and lower oxygen levels. Trekkers need to be physically fit, properly acclimatized, and mentally prepared to overcome these challenges. Most of the trekkers like to cross the pass early in the morning in order to avoid the harsh wind of the afternoon.

As part of the Manaslu Circuit Trek, the Larkya La Pass connects the Budhi Gandaki Valley in the east to the Marsyangdi Valley in the west. On a clear day from the Larkya La Pass, you'll get great views of the Larkya Glacier and notable peaks including Gyaji Kung (7, 030m), Kang Guru (6,981 m), Cheo Himal (6, 820m), Himlung Himal (7,126 m), and Annapurna II (7,937 m).

Manaslu Conservation Area

Manaslu Conservation Area is home to a varied range of plants and animals. The area is inhabited by 33 mammal species, 110 bird species, 11 butterfly species, and 3 reptile species. On average, there are over 2000 plant species, 11 forest kinds, and more than 50 important plant species. Manaslu Conservation Area has different climatic zones ranging from sub-tropical to Nival. It covers an area of 1663 sq. km. As for the elevation, it rises from 600 meters to 8,163 meters, the pinnacle of Mt. Manalsu.

If you are courageous enough then you can even take a bath in the lake but trekkers need to be careful about their health as the weather will be really cold and bathing in the freezing cold water may not be a great idea.

This short side trip lies on the way to Samdo from Samagaon and trekkers should definitely visit this Lake during the Manaslu Circuit Trekking. Namrung

Rich in culture, Namrung is a village that acts as a gateway to the upper Manaslu region, where visitors can explore Tibetan-influenced traditions. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,660 meters (8,730 feet) above sea level. Namrung is a popular trekking destination as it lies on the Manaslu Circuit Trek, one of the most scenic and challenging treks in Nepal.

The climate in Namrung Manaslu has high, low, and low temperatures all year round. The temperature range in Namrung ranges from -5°C to 12 °C in January, and the temperature can reach a maximum of 22°C. There is as much precipitation as 22 days in a month in Namrung in June and July.

Samagaon

Samagaun is a small village located at an altitude of 3,530 meters (11,581 ft) in the Gandaki province of Nepal. The Tibetan ethnic people reside as Nubrian inhabitants in Samagaun Manaslu Nepal. Rupina La Pass

Rupina La Pass is another one of the challenging mountain passes of the Manaslu region which is also one of the vantage points. Located at an altitude of 4,720 meters, it can be considered an easier alternative to the Larkya La Pass.
