A historical region on the lap of the Himalayas, Tibet resides at the highest elevation of 4,900 meters from the Earth. People of different ethnic groups have been inhabited in Tibet since the 7th century. It is one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations where nature, culture, and religion culminate on an exalted plateau.

Tibet is home to more than 50 peaks above 7,000 m and at least eleven Himalayan mountains over 8,000m. It has become a real paradise for mountaineers and explorers. Lhasa is the capital of Tibet. Lhasa means in Tibetan “The land of gods". It is an ancient city with a rich cultural heritage, made up of the Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, and Norbulingka palaces; some extraordinary places of cultural and religious significance to Tibetan Buddhists.
