One of the highlights of a Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour is the chance to observe some
of Nepal's most iconic wildlife. The park is home to the endangered one-horned
rhinoceros, the elusive Bengal tiger, Asian elephants, sloth bears, leopards, wild boars,
spotted deer, sambar deer, gaur (Indian bison), mugger crocodiles, and the critically
endangered gharial crocodile.
Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted, as Chitwan National Park is home to more than
600 bird species, making it one of Nepal's finest birdwatching destinations. Depending
on the season, visitors can spot kingfishers, hornbills, eagles, herons, storks, peacocks,
and numerous migratory birds.
